Lumbini was one of the calmest places we visited in Nepal. Walking around the Sacred Garden and visiting the Maya Devi Temple felt very different from the busy sightseeing days in Kathmandu. We also enjoyed seeing the monasteries built by different countries, each with its own style and atmosphere. The area around the Ashoka Pillar and the pond was especially peaceful. Everything was well organized and we had enough time to walk slowly, sit for a while and actually take in the place instead of just taking photos and leaving. It was a very meaningful day.
